I just finished a fourteen week internship for student teachers. During the internship, I worked as a social studies teacher for freshman and seniors. In the last year, I worked with a pupil who has intellectual disabilities. We met twice each week after school to refine her study and organization abilities. We worked on her English and history studies, too. As a tutor, I excel because of my organization, my calm demeanor, and my sense of humor. I command the ability to see the most basic concepts from varying viewpoints. Finding alternate approaches to the instruction of one problem pleases me.The subjects I tutor include history ranging from American to European, social studies courses related to government and politics, geography, composition skills for essays and general writing, and test preparation skills. I feel comfortable working with varying age ranges and intellectual abilities as well as varying levels of experience within a subject.I live in Quinton, Virginia, and I enjoy Harry Potter, reading, and cooking new recipes.
